The chakras are responsible for directing and distributing this energy throughout our body.

There are 7 major Chakras running from the base of the spine to the crown of the head, each chakra being responsible for distributing energy to different organs, nerves and muscles. Each Chakra is said to spin at a different frequency. When each Chakra spins at it's perfect frequency the body radiates perfect health; emotions are centred and balanced and we enjoy a deep sense of peace.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY CHAKRAS ARE OUT OF BALANCE?

Most of us have one or more of our chakras out of balance at any given point in time.  Chakra clearings are very important.  In fact subtle differences may be the very reason for each of our individual personalities. However, more obvious imbalances or blockages can have a huge effect on both our physical and mental well-being. PHYSICAL SIGNS: Sometimes the body itself will give us clues: a sore throat can be a indication that the 5th (Throat) chakra needs balancing; headaches can hint that we need to work on our 6th (Third Eye) chakra; constipation may nudge us into looking at our base. BEHAVIOURAL CLUES: Alternatively you can draw from your behaviour. Are you often fearful, lacking in confidence and self-esteem? Work with your 3rd (solar plexus) chakra. Do you find you have sexual relationships but can’t connect on an emotional level? You may well need to focus on both the 1st (base) and 4th (heart) chakras. If you’re feeling too spacey and drifting away from the “real world” you may need to ground yourself with your 1st (base) chakra. DIVINATION: Pendulums, Dowsing Rods Method One: Standing Position  - Pendulums

Stand in front of, or directly behind the person you are working with. Place the pendulum directly over their crown chakra [top of head]. The pendulum should swing in one of three ways: back and forth - side to side - or in circles. Next place the pendulum in front of the third eye [forehead]. If the chakra is balanced the pendulum will swing in the opposite direction of the crown chakra - or the circles will be reversed.  Continue with each chakra down the line - throat, solar plexus, spleen, and root. If a chakra is balanced the pendulum will continue to reverse polarities. If it is out of balance the pendulum will swing in the wrong direction - or not at all.

Method Two: Laying Down Position -

& Rods Sit to the side of the person you are working with. Take your pendulum/rods and determine you YES/NO response. Hold the pendulum/rods a few inches above each chakra in turn and ask if they are balanced.  If the answer is NO you may also wish to ask if it is blocked.

WHAT DO I USE TO BALANCE MY CHAKRAS?

Chakras are stimulated by energy vibrations, the same as thoses found to resonate within crystals, which can thus be used as in a similar fashion to tuning forks, realligning your bodies vibrations.  We will talk more about chakra clearings and how to do them futher on.

HERE ARE SOME CRYSTALS THAT CAN BE USED FOR A CHAKRA CLEARING:

The colour of a stone is the key to it's healing qualities. Each colour of a stone works best on a specific chakra.  Listed below are some of the stones that may be used on each Chakra.

1st: Red Jasper, Garnet, Onyx, Rubies, Apache Tear, Red Tiger's Eye, Smokey Quartz, Obsidian, Black Tourmaline & Hematite. 2nd: Carnelian, Orange Calcite, Tiger Eye, Moonstone. 3rd: Citrine, Amber, Topaz, Yellow Calcite, Yellow Jasper. 4th: Rose quartz, Aventurine, Rhodonite, Unakite, Jade & Malachite. 5th: Aquamarine, Turquoise, Blue Lace Agate, Sodalite & Lapis Lazuli. 6th: Sapphire, Turquoise, Amethyst, Flourite, Zunzite, Labradorite, Sugilite & Sodalite. 7th: Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Moonstone, Zircon & Diamond. HOW DO I USE MY CRYSTALS TO DO A CHAKRA CLEARING? First you need to clean, cleanse & program your crystal. When this is done place the crystal close to your chakra. This will help balance the energy vibrations between the gem and your body. This can be done in the following ways: *  Lie down and place the appropriate crystal directly on top of the relevant chakra. *  Hold the crystal in your hand beside the chakra. *  Wearing your crystal in a peice of jewellery that sits close to the chakra. *  Place your crystal in a small pouch and pin this to your clothing in the desired location.   WHAT CAN I USE TO UNBLOCK A CHAKRA? Sometimes a Chakra can become blocked. Crystals can once again be used, however, for a more radical approach Singing Bowls, Bells or Tingsha can be used to kick start the chakra into action.

1ST CHAKRA- THE ROOT

THIS CHAKRA IS RELATED TO SECURITY, SURVIVAL & ALSO BASIC HUMAN NATURE.  THIS CHAKRA IS SITUATED BETWEEN THE ANUS & THE GENITALS.  PRIMARY COLOUR IS RED.  OTHER COLOURS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ROOT CHAKRA ARE BROWN & GREY.  GOOD GEMSTONES FOR THIS CHAKRA ARE:  RED JASPER & BLACK ONYX

2ND CHAKRA- THE NAVEL

THIS CHAKRA IS RELATED TO EMOTION, SEXUALITY & CREATIVITY.  THIS CHAKRA IS SITUATED ABOUT 5CM ABOVE THE PUBIC BONE.  PRIMARY COLOUR IS ORANGE.  OTHERS  ARE VARIOUS SHADES OF ORANGE.  GOOD GEMSTONES FOR THIS CHAKRA ARE:  CARNELIAN & ORANGE CALCITE

3RD CHAKRA- THE SOLAR PLEXUS

THIS CHAKRA IS RELATED TO ENERGY ASSIMILATION AND DIGESTION.  THIS CHAKRA IS SITUATED 5CM ABOVE THE NAVEL.  THE PRIMARY COLOUR IS YELLOW.  OTHERS ARE VARIOUS SHADES OF YELLOW.  GOOD GEMSTONES FOR THIS CHAKRA ARE:  CITRINE & TIGER'S EYE

4TH CHAKRA- THE HEART

THIS CHAKRA IS RELATED TO LOVE, EQUILIBRIUM & WELL BEING.  THIS CHAKRA IS SITUATED APPROXIMATELY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CHEST.  THE PRIMARY COLOUR IS GREEN AND SHADES OF GREEN, THE SECONDARY COLOUR IS PINK.  GOOD GEMSTONES FOR THIS CHAKRA ARE: ROSE QUARTZ & AVENTRINE

5TH CHAKRA- THE THROAT

THIS CHAKRA IS RELATED TO COMMUNICATION AND GROWTH, GROWTH BEING A FORM OF EXPRESSION.  THIS CHAKRA IS SITUATED AT THE BASE OF THE THROAT.  THE PRIMARY COLOUR IS LIGHT BLUE LIKE AQUA OR TURQUOISE, SECONDARY COLOURS ARE VARIOUS SHADES OF LIGHTER BLUES.  GOOD GEMSTONES FOR THIS CHAKRA ARE:  CELESTITE & BLUE LACE AGATE

6TH CHAKRA- THE THIRD EYE

THIS IS THE CHAKRA OF TIME AND AWARENESS OF LIGHT.  THIS CHAKRA IS LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOREHEAD BETWEEN THE BROWS.  THE PRIMARY COLOUR IS DARK BLUE OR VARIOUS SHADES OF DARK BLUE.  GOOD GEMSTONES FOR THIS CHAKRA ARE: SODALITE & LAPIS LAZULI

7TH CHAKRA- THE CROWN

THIS IS SAID TO BE THE CHAKRA OF CONSCIOUSNESS, THE "MASTER" CHAKRA THAT CONTROLS ALL OTHERS.  IT IS LOCATED ON TOP OF THE HEAD.  THE PRIMARY COLOUR IS PURPLE, THE SECONDARY COLOURS ARE SHADES OF PURPLE AND COLOURLESS (CLEAR) OR WHITE.  GOOD GEMSTONES FOR THIS CHAKRA ARE:  AMETHYST & CLEAR QUARTZ
